Cite mode
When you are on the canvas view
When you are working in a document or in the canvas view, you can use Cite mode to add references. Simply click the "Ask/Cite" dropdown to switch between modes.
Highlight Text to Get Citations
As you write, ✍️ highlight any text you want to support with citations.
The highlighted text will automatically appear in the input field (this may take a few seconds).
Click Send to retrieve relevant citations.
View and Explore Excerpts
Click on a direct excerpt to expand and read the full quote.
Click on the article title — it will scroll directly to the exact location of the excerpt.

Click Show rationale to read why Gobu selected that specific excerpt for you.
Insert Citations into Your Text
Click +Cite to add the citation directly to your Word document.
Use the Assistant on the Canvas
You can use the Assistant in both Ask and Cite modes while working on the canvas.
Cite Mode → Select text on the canvas to get supporting citations.
Ask Mode → Ask any question related to your project directly from the canvas.
