# Ask Mode: Chat with your library

Gobu has two modes: **Cite** and **Ask**. This section explains how to use the **Ask** mode.

**1. Switch Between Modes**

* Use the dropdown menu to choose your mode.
  * **Cite** → Get supporting quotes with proper citations.
  * **Ask** → Ask questions; answers will only come from your library.

**2. Select a Project**

* 📂 Choose a project to access its source documents.
* You can switch between projects by clicking on **@**.

**3. Ask Questions Based on Your Library**

* Type your question in the input field.
* Gobu will provide answers backed by **direct excerpts** from your library.

**4. Start a New Chat**

* Click **Clear Chat** if you want to start a new conversation.
* This will clear your previous questions and AI answers, starting a fresh thread.
