Cite Mode: Insert citations
Gobu has two modes: Cite and Ask. This section explains how to use the Cite mode.
1. Switch Between Modes
Use the dropdown menu to choose your mode.
Cite → Get supporting quotes with proper citations.
Ask → Ask questions; answers will only come from your library.

2. Select a Project
📂 Choose a project to access its source documents.
You can switch between your projects by clicking on @.

3. Highlight Text to Get Citations
As you write, ✍️ highlight any text you want to support with citations.
The highlighted text will automatically appear in the input field (this may take a few seconds).
Click Send to retrieve relevant citations.

4. View and Explore Excerpts
Click on a direct excerpt to expand and read the full quote.
Click on the article title to open Gobu in your browser — it will scroll directly to the exact location of the excerpt.

5. See Why an Excerpt Was Suggested
Click Show rationale to read why Gobu selected that specific excerpt for you.

6. Insert Citations into Your Text
Click +Cite to add the citation directly to your Word document.
