Watch the learning center video about Canvas and the Canvas Toolbar.

What is the Canvas?

The Canvas is your visual, creative space—designed to help you deeply understand and organize your research material.

From your linear overview, you can click "Take it to the Canvas". This opens your analysis on an infinite canvas where you can:

  • Zoom in/out.

  • Scroll through article sections.

  • View your notes alongside the analysis.

Interacting with the Canvas

  • Drag & Drop elements like excerpts from your analysis.

  • Use arrows to visually connect insights.

  • Double-click anywhere to create a Text Block:

    • Temporary, not saved in your library.

    • Ideal for brainstorming or rough notes.

  • Turn Blocks to Docs to store them in you library and reuse in other projects.

Adding More Content

Click Add Analysis to:

  • Upload another article.

  • Run an AI analysis.

  • Add it to the same canvas to compare findings.

This is perfect for combining materials into a single research project.

Toolbar Functions

  • Add Analysis: Bring new analyses into the canvas.

  • Create New Note:

    • Notes are permanent and saved to your library.

    • You can type in new content or expand on existing notes.

  • Add from Library:

    • Search and select notebooks (AI analyses), notes, or sources.

    • One click adds them directly to your canvas.

Linked to the Source

Every excerpt remains tied to its original source:

  • Click any excerpt to view it in the full PDF.

  • Even with multiple articles on one canvas, it's easy to trace each insight back.

Go back to Home page

Click on Gobu.ai on the top left corner in the app to go back to the Home page.
