Gobu Walkthrough
AI Research and Study Assistant
Welcome to Gobu! This guide will help you understand how to get started with Gobu, the AI-powered tool designed for students and researchers to work smarter, faster, and stay grounded in academic integrity.
1. What is Gobu?
Gobu is an AI research and study assistant created by a team of researchers and product builders. It helps you:
Analyze academic articles and complex texts.
Understand guidelines, essays, or any difficult content.
Work efficiently with a structured and reliable research process.
2. Creating a New Project
When you log in, your homepage shows a list of your existing projects. To start:
Click "Create New".
Choose between two modes:
Article Analysis: For deep, scientific analysis.
Smart Summary: For quick understanding, takeaways, and conclusions.
Want your analysis tailored to your own research? Click 👤 Personalize AI for your project to set your Research Focus.
You’ll be asked to enter a few key details — like your project summary, research questions, hypothesis, and main arguments. This personalisation happens at the project level and helps Gobu tailor the relevance and insight sections just for you. We recommend setting your Research Focus before running any analysis to get the most accurate results.
3. Uploading Documents
You can upload your own documents in two ways:
From your device: Upload PDFs directly.
From your Gobu Library: Select files you previously uploaded.
4. Running and Viewing Analyses
Once you select a document:
Gobu runs the AI-powered analysis and takes you to a notebook view.
You'll receive a notification when the analysis is done.
The AI results are editable—modify them to make the content your own.
5. Using the Editor and Source Excerpts
Each AI-generated statement is backed by excerpts.
Click on a reference to read the exact part of the source.
Use "Locate on Source" to jump to the exact PDF location.
6. Exploring the Sidebar Features
Gobu provides a structured view:
Summary: An overview of the article.
Concepts: Both basic and key concepts.
Relations: Explains how concepts connect.
Key Results & Implications: What the findings mean and why they matter.
Gobu is built to help you actively engage with your material. Customize, reflect, and go deeper into your research or study materials with confidence.
Happy researching!
