Set your Research Focus

Tell your project to Gobu, and you’ll get two new sections designed just for you:

Relevance

  • Is this article a good fit for your research?

  • Why it matters for your work

  • How can you use it in your project

Insights

  • What’s hardest to understand (perfect for learning)

  • Hypothesis-fit

  • Arguments you could make in your essay or article based on the analysed article

How to set your Research Focus

1. List view of a Project

When you go to the list view of a project, you will see the button "Set Research Focus" at the top. Click this, fill in the fields, and save.

2. After choosing Add Analysis

When you choose "Add Analysis" within an existing project or while creating a new project, you will get Article Analysis and Smart Summary options. After choosing an option, you will be directed to upload or choose a PDF for analysis. On this page, you will see the "👤 Personalize AI for your project" option. Click this, fill in the fields, and save.

After the Research Focus is set

When you set a Research Focus, all the new analyses you add to that project will have Relevance and Insights sections. Your old analysis in that project will not have these sections. However, you can rerun those analyses to include these sections.
